For the first time since the beginning of the pandemic, a meeting of the working group on film development was held. Vladyslav Berkovskyi, Director of the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation, was a guest of the meeting.
Odesa is the city where cinema was born. For several centuries, our city has been a platform for shooting foreign and domestic films. The cinematic glory of the city spreads far beyond Ukraine. Odesa is a unique city that constantly encroaches on its architectural, natural locations of filmmakers.
In 2019, the Odesa film office was established, which works on the principle of "single window" and any filmmaker can seek help in organizing filming. The office helps with site selection, obtaining the necessary permits and much more.
In addition, the office is the organizer and co-organizer of various festivals and competitions, including:
- organization and holding of the Competition of short films "Once in Odesa", dedicated to the 225th anniversary of the founding of Odesa.
- assistance in organizing and conducting the First Student Film Festival "First Step" and many others.
Vladyslav Berkovskyi told Odesa cinematographers about the grants that the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation provides to filmmakers of any level of professionalism.
Last year, the grant office Odesa 5T won a grant from the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation to create the Let’s Odesa travel mobile app, which already has tens of thousands of downloads in digital stores. Working together and supporting the work of filmmakers will be the beginning of a lasting tradition and our community will be able to support films that will promote and glorify Odesa in the national and world film and culture markets
