In July 2018, Ukraine and the European Investment Bank signed an agreement to improve quality and reliability of public transport in up to 20 cities in Ukraine, including Odesa, reduce pollution, mortality and injuries on the roads and make Ukrainian cities an even better place to live for pedestrians, cyclists and users of public transport.
This means the people of Ukraine will benefit from modern, safe and fast connections and the new business opportunities they bring.
The project involves the installation of stops on public transport routes, fences on tram routes, equipping pedestrian crossings with illuminated safety islands, organization of roundabouts, installation of anti-parking poles in the historic center of the city, development of pedestrian zones.
Reduced mortality and injuries on the roads by improving road infrastructure, infrastructure for pedestrians, cyclists and public transport.
